The Writing World Gets Recognized

This is awesome. Examiner.com has a written article posted about The Writing World. Many thanks to the author of the article, , Pensacola Book Review Examiner.

Book giveaway features local author May 6-13

Writer’s World, an online author’s blog, is featuring a book give away this month, from May 6 to May 13.  The blog is the brainchild of  Raebeth McGee, an aspiring writer herself. “The Writing World started out as a simple blog where I could go and share my writing journey with readers,” Raebeth explains.  “I started it on May 14, 2011.  I intended to share small tips for writers to help them in the process of writing their own books. At the beginning of the year, an author approached me and asked me if I did reviews. At the time I didn’t, but this caught my attention. I ended up doing the review for her and asked her for an interview. This is where the enjoyment of what I do started.”

This give away is her first try at hosting such an event.  While other blogs have hosted similar events, Raebeth isn’t concerned about following a hot trend.

“I do my own things,” she said. “I plan on celebrating every year. I think it’s a milestone for me.”

The give away features one prize of eight e-books, including “Stars Shine After Dark”, a Christian romance by Pensacola author Paula Hrbacek.  Other books include “Angel Evolution” by David Estes, “Shades of Grey” by Michael Cargill, “Eyes of the Seer” by Peter Dawes, “ The Weeping Empress” by Sadie Forsythe, “The Adventures of the Frog Prince” by J. R. Barker, “The Consuls of the Vicariate” (Book #2) by BrianKittrell, and “The Ember Gods” by Andrea Pearson.  A description of each book can be found here: http://raebethmcgeeswriting.blogspot.com/p/first-birthday-celebration.html  The link also includes the entry form and complete instructions for entering.  A randomly drawn winner will be awarded the prize on May 14.

Raebeth says she finds writing this blog, and reviewing books by unknown authors to be very rewarding in a personal way.  Her reviews feature both ebooks and printed books, in a variety of genres.  Over time, the variety of genres has been narrowed down.  Authors that are interested in getting a review or interview should see the blog for a list of accepted materials.
“The personal satisfaction I get is huge,” she says.  “I love helping others. The Indie world is hard and authors have to work extremely hard to get their names out there. I take pride in helping these authors. I try to help spread the word of a new book that is about to be released or a new author making an appearance within the writing world.”

You can find her blog at the link above.  She is also on Facebook.  Be sure to follow her and see upcoming reviews and future contests.  She’ll also be posting upcoming news about her own book, “Silenced” which is set to be released in the near future.  Her web sites are Facebook  https://www.facebook.com/thewritingworld
